"We are trying to find a guy to take the place of Zac Veatch; more of the hammer blocking back, two-back running game that we run. He's from San Mateo junior college out there in California. We don't typically recruit California, but he just fit the niche. He's a 6-foot, 250-pound true fullback. He's going to put his face on you and come at you like a pit bull. He's athletic and can catch the ball in the back field, but at the same time, he has that explosiveness at the point of attack. He can block in the two-back outside zone play that we run. He played linebacker last year at San Mateo, then they moved him to fullback and he was a first-team All-American in JUCO at fullback after one year. He has the athleticism to fit the blocking-back role."
